The tech had logged every small piece of information found on the body of the girl brought in last night. There was nothing outward to mark her as a wolf.

She lay there, a still and bruised human, half covered by a white sheet, but Rob knew Nick was right. Humans might not be able to tell a shifter, but a wolf always could.

"Stabbed," the ME commented briskly. Abigail Hensen was the best in the business and a wolf to boot. She had scented the body as Rob watched, taken blood samples as well as samples from every orifice and passed them all to her harried assistant. She pointed to the slanted wound on the body, just below the heart. "Sharp blade, entered at a near forty-five degree angle, right-handed attacker." She lifted the girl's left hand, indicating cuts across the knuckles and then farther down, carved into slim arms. "Defensive wounds indicate she tried to protect herself. I catalogued markings on her back and sides. A collection of older scars and some new wounds that remain open."

"Do you know what caused them?" Rob was aware this was a very open query, but Abigail didn‟t dismiss the question out of hand.

"From the abrasions here and here…" Rob leaned 85
